Specialising in developing research supervision
There are two recent videos of Anne’s work with doctoral supervisors now available. They are edited versions of a much longer programme that was held in Copenhagen in October 2013. Introduction and link to the subsequent keynote here:
Anne has a background in psychology and has been involved in developing people for over 20 years. Her wide experience in universities, business, public service and industry has enabled her to have a deep understanding of the requirements of the creation of knowledge and its translation into different environments.
Dr Lee was a Senior Academic Development Adviser for the University of Surrey until the demand for her work led her to work independently in 2010.
She is well-known for her research and key note presentations on doctoral and research supervision. (See an example here: NAIRTL – NAIRTL Conference 2009.)
At Surrey she was programme leader for their ‘Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice’, ‘Preparing to Teach’ for graduate teaching assistants and associate tutors, and ‘Advanced Practice’ for senior staff.
She has been a member of the UK Vitae working group on the Researcher Development Framework and chaired a team reporting for the UKCGE (UK Council for Graduate Education) into ‘Preparing to Teach in Higher Education’. She is also the author of an SRHE Guide to Good Practice on Supervisory Teams.
